Responsibilities

Tasks

• Review building-code requirements and project specifications to plan roof layouts, then use measuring instruments and layout tools to mark dimensions, slopes, and component positions.
• Measure, cut, shape, fit, and fasten lumber, engineered wood products, light-gauge steel, and other roofing and framing materials.
• Construct and erect roof framing and support systems; where the scope of work requires, also install foundation components, floor beams, subflooring, and wall assemblies.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stair components, trim/mouldings, and hardware as part of roof-related renovation and residential construction work.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and renovate roofs and wooden structures in residential buildings and in facilities such as mills, hospitals, industrial plants, and other similar establishments.
