Work Setting: Japanese Restaurant
Education: Completion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in the industry

Experience: Several years of experience in food service sector, including supervisory experience.

Job Description:

− Develop new recipes and design menus that attract customers, balancing flavor, nutrition, and presentation.
− Upgrade existing dishes or create new offerings inspired by customer feedback, seasonal availability, and current food trends.
− Ensure consistency and high quality in every dish, maintaining the restaurant’s culinary standards.
− Oversee all kitchen output while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
− Make fast, effective decisions under pressure to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
− Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, sharing culinary techniques and introducing new recipes and equipment.
− Manage inventory and control the maintenance of kitchen equipment.
− Regularly inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients.
