We are seeking a Floor Covering Installer for a full-time, permanent position of 30 hours per week. This role offers a salary range of CAD $34.50 to CAD $36.50 per hour, negotiable based on experience, with overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times for hours worked beyond the 44th hour. Our office is located in Richmond Hill, ON. Fluency in English is required. This position is NOT available for telecommuting/remote work.

The main responsibilities for this position include:

Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding

Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors

Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings

Prepare and install hardwood floors

Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings

Prepare floors for installations

Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants

Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces

Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting

Perform direct glue-down carpet installations

Perform double-bond carpet installations

Install outdoor carpets

Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired) Install vinyl decking materials

Requirements:

Language: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Previous Experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
