Nature of position:     Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $93,000 per annum

 

Vacation:                     11 days, plus one additional day for every 6 consecutive months worked to a maximum of 20 days total; vacation pay of 4.233%

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Prepare and file legal documents, including securities offering documents, insider reports, and company documents
  • Assist lawyers in preparation and filing of regulatory submissions
  • Maintain corporate records and databases, including minute books, registers of directors, and central securities registers
  • Assist lawyers by interviewing third parties such as designated insiders, directors, officers, and significant security holders
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate transactions and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with corporate governance matters such as organization of board meetings
  • Research records, company files, and other legal documents
  • Draft legal correspondence and perform general office and clerical duties

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, or a law college diploma, is required
  • In-house training from a law firm or other legal establishment is required
  • Legal research experience is preferred
  • Administrative and/or invoicing experience, and experience liaising with clients and other third parties, is preferred
  • Knowledge of securities law
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and time constraints
  • Organized, with attention to detail
  • Professional communication style, including mastery of academic, legal, and business English
  • Willingness to work in a team environment with both in-person and remote team members
